Standard of Dress for Men & Ladies
Players are expected to wear an acceptable standard of golfing attire when playing golf at Ballybunion GC. The following examples are unacceptable on the courses:
- Denim Jeans and Jackets
- Sleeveless or collarless shirts (Ladies can wear sleeveless tee shirts with collars)
- Untailored shorts and cargo shorts
- Sweaters without shirts
- Football shirts/jerseys
- Garments displaying slogans
- Track or Leisure Suits
- Trainer Shoes or Runners
- Shirts hanging loose over trousers or shorts and trousers legs tucked into socks
NOTE: Men should wear knee-length or sports socks with tailored shorts.
In the bar and dining room, dress should be smart casual. Please do not wear headgear.
The Club reserves the right to refuse access to the Clubhouse or Course to anyone dressed inappropriately

Course closure …..
In the event of course closure where the management deem the course unplayable, an alternative tee-time will be offered, subject to availability.

108 Km from Shannon Airport 56 Km from Kerry Airport (Farranfore)
83 Km from Limerick 73 Km from Killarney
14 Km from Listowel 26 Km from Tarbet Car Ferry
89 Km from Dingle
From Shannon:
Take the N18 sign posted Limerick
From Limerick, follow the N69 via Foynes and Tarbert
From Tarbert take the R551 signposted Ballybunion.
From Cork:
Take the N27 signposted Cork, onto N25 signposted South Ring West onto N22 signposted Tralee, via Macroom, Killarney and Farranfore
From Tralee take the N69 signposted Listowel
From Listowel take the R553 signposted Ballybunion.
From Dublin:
Take the M50 Southbound, following the N7 signposted Limerick via Portlaoise, Roscrea, Nenagh and Limerick
From Limerick, follow the N69 sign posted Ballybunion, via Foynes and Tarbert
From Tarbert take the R551 sign posted Ballybunion.
The Rules of Golf
As laid down by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews shall govern play on the links and the strict observance of the “Etiquette of Golf” is essential. Ballybunion adhere to the highest standards of etiquette and asks all members and visitors to show due consideration to fellow golfers.
Slow Play
Slow play is not enjoyable. We request players to give way if they are holding other groups and to be aware of their position on the course at all times and stay “behind the group in front not in front of the group behind”.
Environment
Links courses are fragile and Green Staff take every care in preparing the links for your enjoyment. Please help us maintain our courses to the highest standards by repairing pitch marks, replacing divots and raking bunkers properly.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones may not be used in the Club Bars or Restaurant, on Putting Greens or on the Courses. If you are using a mobile phone please use it discreetly and in a manner that shows proper consideration for others.
