2025 VISITOR GREEN FEES
High Season (14th April – 3rd October, 2025)
We are delighted to welcome golfing visitors to Ballybunion Golf Club, Co Kerry. To check availability on our courses or to make a booking, call us on +353 (0) 68 27146 or email reservations@ballybuniongolfclub.ie.
Our green fees for 2025 are as follows:
Old Course – €400.00 per person
Two-round offer (one round on Old Course plus one round on Cashen Course) – €500.00 per person

THE OLD COURSE

VISITOR TEE TIMES

Morning tee times are available to golf visitors Monday to Friday from mid-April to early October (excluding Bank Holiday Mondays) on the Old Course and in the morning and afternoon on Cashen Course. Weekends are for members’ play only.

Terms & Conditions

BOOKING

To make a tee-time reservation, please call the office or log on to the Club’s website to book online. Prepayment of green fees is required for all reservations.
Payments made by credit card will be in the currency of the card holder. The Club has no control over exchange rates made by third parties and cannot be held liable for any difference between currency paid or received or any commission or conversion made by them.

ONLINE RESERVATIONS

When payment is made online for a tee-time, an email confirmation of a booking will be sent to the booker. It is important for the golfer to bring this confirmation to the club reception when checking in.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations received more than six months in advance of the date of play will be refunded in full. Within six months from the date of play, cancellations will result in forfeiture of the full green fee – with no exception.

We regret that we cannot offer refunds due to delayed/cancelled flights or travel plans, personal injury or illness. For this reason, we strongly recommend visiting golfers have travel insurance to cover this eventuality. (For example, www.insuremytrip.com)

COURSE CLOSURE

In the event of course closure where the management deem the course unplayable, an alternative tee-time will be offered, subject to availability.

JUNIOR GOLFERS

Visiting junior golfers playing the Old Course must be between 14-18 years old, be accompanied by an adult golfer and have a maximum playing handicap of 16.

PACE OF PLAY

A round of golf on either of the courses should be completed in reasonable time, depending on the weather conditions on the day of play. If one of our Rangers deems that play is excessively slow, golfers may be requested to pick up their ball on the hole and move to the next hole. In extreme circumstances, golfer/s may be requested to leave the course if slow play is persistent.

NON-GOLFERS – We do not allow non-golfers on the course with the golfers for health and safety reasons.

PGAs

PGAs

Golf Professionals may, on request, receive courtesy of the course. A maximum of one golf professional per group is allowed, the group must be a minimum of 4 players. On check-in, all golf professionals are required to show proof of their professional status.

MEDAL TEES

At the General Manager or Head Professional’s discretion, and on production of a handicap certificate, play from the medal tees may be permitted to Category 1 golfers.

ALCOHOL

The consumption of alcohol is strictly not allowed on either the Cashen or the Old Course.

MEN’S & LADIES HANDICAP LIMITS

The handicap limit for men is maximum 24, while for ladies the maximum is 36. (Please bring your handicap certificate with you and present this to our 1st tee starter.)

PRACTICE FACILITIES

Complimentary use of the Club’s practice facility is available to visiting golfers prior to their tee-time.

At Ballybunion Golf Club, we believe that the game of golf is best experienced by walking with a caddie – a tradition 500 years in the making. Please note we insist that every group has at least one Caddie or a Fore Caddie.

To request a caddie, please contact the Club’s Office prior to arrival. Caddies cannot be guaranteed but every effort is made to satisfy all requests. Fees are payable on the day of play. Gratuity is at the golfer’s discretion. We only allow our own Caddies to caddie for golfers.

NON-GOLFERS

We do not allow non-golfers on the course with the golfers for health and safety reasons.

BUGGY HIRE/ ELECTRIC TROLLIES

A limited number of buggies are available for hire for use on the Cashen Course. Buggies are strictly not allowed on the Old Course for safety reasons. To reserve a buggy for the Cashen Course or an electric trolley for either course, please contact the office.

CLUB HIRE

To hire clubs, please contact the office.

SOFT SPIKES

Soft Spikes only to be worn at Ballybunion Golf Club. Metal Spikes are not allowed on the courses or in the clubhouse.

CLUB RIGHTS

Please note: The Club reserves the right to add more golfers to a tee-time to make a fourball.

NON-GOLFERS

We do not allow non-golfers on the course with the golfers for health and safety reasons.

CADDIES

At Ballybunion Golf Club, we believe that the game of golf is best experienced by walking with a caddie – a tradition 500 years in the making. Bag fees and gratuities are paid directly to the caddie.
The amount of any gratuity is at the sole discretion of the player. No one else may determine a gratuity, nor may anyone demand one. If you wish to comment on a caddie’s performance, please feel free to contact our Caddie Master or General Manager. Caddies are independent contractors. They are not employed by Ballybunion Golf Club and, therefore, we cannot guarantee availability.

FAQ

DRESS CODE

Standard of Dress for Men & Ladies

Players are expected to wear an acceptable standard of golfing attire when playing golf at Ballybunion GC. The following examples are unacceptable on the courses:

  1. Denim Jeans and Jackets
  2. Sleeveless or collarless shirts (Ladies can wear sleeveless tee shirts with collars)
  3. Untailored shorts and cargo shorts
  4. Sweaters without shirts
  5. Football shirts/jerseys
  6. Garments displaying slogans
  7. Track or Leisure Suits
  8. Trainer Shoes or Runners
  9. Shirts hanging loose over trousers or shorts and trousers legs tucked into socks

NOTE: Men should wear knee-length or sports socks with tailored shorts.

In the bar and dining room, dress should be smart casual. Please do not wear headgear.

The Club reserves the right to refuse access to the Clubhouse or Course to anyone dressed inappropriately

THE RULES OF GOLF

As laid down by the Royal and Ancient Golf of St. Andrews shall govern play on the links and the strict observance of the “Etiquette of Golf” is essential. Ballybunion adhere to the highest standards of etiquette and asks all members and visitors to show due consideration to fellow golfers.

ENVIRONMENT

Links courses are fragile and Green Staff take every care in preparing the links for your enjoyment. Please help us maintain our courses to the highest standards by repairing pitch marks, replacing divots and raking bunkers properly.

MOBILE PHONES

Mobile phones may not be used in the Club Bars or Restaurant, on Putting Greens or on the Courses. If you are using a mobile phone please use it discreetly and in a manner that shows proper consideration for others.
